Dr. Sara Nelms

Veterinarian

Dr. Nelms, a Tupelo native, has been with Dilworth Small Animal Hospital since 2004. She graduated from Tupelo High School and then attended Tulane University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1996. She then matriculated to Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine where she achieved her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.

Her professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dermatology. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Nelms, her husband, Rick, and son, Landon, share their home with Bailey, a Maine Coon cat, and Mac, a calico cat. In her free time, she enjoys golfing and spending time with family and friends.
